The falling away is not future. It is here. Mainstream Christianity IS the apostasy.
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition."
2 Thessalonians 2:3
The Greek word is apostasia -- from which we get "apostasy." A deliberate departure from truth. Not ignorance, but abandonment.
An apostasy is not the absence of religion. It is the corruption of it. The Greek word apostasia means "a defection, a revolt, a departure from." You cannot fall away from something you were never part of. The apostasy comes from within the assembly of believers -- not from atheists or pagans outside it.
Paul warned that this falling away would happen before the return of Yahusha. The question is not whether it will happen. The question is: has it already happened?
The answer is undeniable. It has. And it has a name. It calls itself Christianity.
| What Scripture Commands | What the Apostasy Teaches |
|---|---|
| Keep Torah -- not one jot or tittle shall pass (Matthew 5:17-19) | Teaches Torah is abolished -- "nailed to the cross," "we're under grace not law" |
| Remember the Sabbath day, keep it set-apart (Exodus 20:8-11) | Worships on Sunday -- the beast's day, instituted by Rome, not Scripture |
| Keep Yahuah's appointed feasts (Leviticus 23) | Celebrates Christmas and Easter -- the beast's pagan holidays with a thin veneer of religion |
| Call upon the sacred names: Yahuah and Yahusha (Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21) | Uses substitute names -- replacing the Creator's name with generic titles and foreign transliterations |
| One mediator between Elohim and men: Yahusha Ha'Mashiach (1 Timothy 2:5) | Multiple mediators -- priests who "absolve" sin, praying to saints, veneration of Mary |
| If you love Me, keep My commandments (John 14:15) | Teaches lawlessness as "grace" -- "just believe," obedience labeled as "legalism" |
"Having a form of righteousness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
2 Timothy 3:5
They look religious. They have buildings, music, programs, emotional experiences. But they deny the power -- the Torah, the commandments, the actual instructions of Yahuah.
Understand: this teaching is not hatred toward people who call themselves Christians. Millions of sincere, well-meaning people sit in churches every Sunday genuinely seeking truth. The problem is not their sincerity -- it is that they have been deceived by a system that claims to represent the Messiah while systematically opposing everything He actually taught.
Yahusha kept Torah. He kept the Sabbath. He kept the feasts. He used the sacred names. He taught obedience to every commandment. The system that bears a form of His name does the exact opposite of everything He did.
That is the very definition of apostasy -- falling away from truth while maintaining the appearance of truth.
Yahuah does not leave His people without a warning. Through the prophet John, He cries out:
"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." Revelation 18:4
He calls them "My people" -- meaning His people are currently inside the apostate system. They are in the churches. They are celebrating the pagan holidays. They are keeping Sunday. And He is calling them out.
The apostasy is not coming. It is here. The question is whether you will remain in it or answer the call to come out.
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Elohim, and the faith of Yahusha."
Revelation 14:12
Two requirements, not one. Commandments AND faith. Torah AND the testimony of the Messiah. The apostasy removes the first half.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Master, Master, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
Matthew 7:21
Calling Him "Master" is not enough. You must DO the will of the Father -- which is written in Torah.
"Many will say to me in that day, Master, Master, have we not prophesied in thy name? ... And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work lawlessness."
Matthew 7:22-23
The Greek word is anomia -- lawlessness, Torah-lessness. They did mighty works "in His name" but lived without Torah. He calls them workers of lawlessness.
