HOW TO USE THIS WORKBOOK

This workbook uses the Truth Carriers Learning Method (6 Rs) designed for deep understanding and long-term retention.

1. RECEIVE
Read the teaching content carefully.
2. REFLECT
Answer questions to process what you've learned.
3. RECALL
Close the book and write what you remember.
4. RECITE
Teach this lesson to someone else.
5. REVIEW
Use spaced repetition (Day 1, 3, 7, 21, 60).
6. RESPOND
Apply what you learned in real life.

Key Principle: Better to learn 5 things deeply than 50 things shallowly.

ABOUT THIS WORKBOOK

Introduction: This workbook explores what Scripture literally says about the structure of creation—the firmament (raqia), waters above, the sun and moon's motion, and Earth's foundations.

What You Will Learn:

Opening Prayer: "Yahuah, open our eyes to see Your creation as You described it. Give us wisdom to discern truth from tradition. In Yahusha's name, amen."

Lesson 1: Genesis 1:6-8 - The Firmament

In the creation account, Day 2 is unique. It describes the creation of a structure that defines our world.

Hebrew Word Study:
The word translated "firmament" is רָקִיעַ (raqia).
Root: raqa - to beat, stamp, beat out, spread out (like metal).

Scripture Focus

Read Genesis 1:6-8 and fill in the blanks:

1. "And Elohim said, Let there be a in the midst of the waters..."

2. "...divided the waters which were the firmament from the waters which were the firmament"

3. "And Elohim called the firmament ."

Critical Thinking

4. Why is Day 2 the only day where Elohim does NOT say "it was good"?

5. Where are the "waters above" located relative to the sky we see?

SCRIPTURE MEMORY: Genesis 1:6-7

"And Elohim said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And Elohim made the firmament..."

  • Day 1: Read aloud 5 times
  • Day 2: Read 3x, recite with book closed
  • Day 3: Write from memory
  • Day 7: Recite to someone
  • Day 21: Review

RECALL EXERCISE

Close this workbook. Write everything you remember from this lesson. After 5 minutes, check what you missed.

Question they asked:

APPLICATION

  • Share this Hebrew word study with someone
  • Read Genesis 1 with fresh eyes for firmament details
  • Research other Hebrew uses of "raqia"

What I did:

Lesson 2: The Firmament's Solid Nature

Scripture uses specific language implying the firmament is solid, not atmosphere or vacuum.

Scripture Lookup

Job 37:18 - Describe the 'molten looking glass':

Ezekiel 1:22 - What material is the firmament compared to?

Amos 9:6 - What does He build in the heaven?

Analysis

Does "molten looking glass" fit with gas atmosphere or vacuum?

[DIAGRAM ACTIVITY] Draw Ezekiel 1:22-26: Living Creatures, Firmament (Crystal), Throne Above

SCRIPTURE MEMORY: Job 37:18

"Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?"

  • Day 1-3: Practice
  • Day 7: Recite
  • Day 21: Review

Lesson 3: Waters Above the Firmament

Fill in the Blanks

1. Psalm 148:4 - "Praise him... ye that be the heavens."

2. Genesis 7:11 - "...the of heaven were opened."

3. 2 Peter 3:5 - "...the earth standing out of the and in the ."

Discussion

4. Psalm 148 was written AFTER the Flood. What does this imply about the waters above?

SCRIPTURE MEMORY: Psalm 148:4

"Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens."

Lesson 4: Sun, Moon, and Stars IN the Firmament

Scripture Analysis

Genesis 1:14-17: "And Elohim set them the firmament..."

Hebrew preposition 'b' (בְּ) means "in" or "within", not "above" or "beyond".

The Motion of the Luminaries

Joshua 10:12-13. What did Joshua command to stand still?

Ecclesiastes 1:5. Who is described as moving?

Logic Check: If Earth were rotating, Joshua would have commanded the Earth to stop. Instead, he commanded the Sun and Moon to stop moving.

SCRIPTURE MEMORY: Joshua 10:13

"And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies."

Lesson 5: The Circle/Compass of the Earth

Word Study:
חוּג (Chug): Circle, circuit, compass (2D geometry)
דּוּר (Dur): Ball, sphere (3D) — used in Isaiah 22:18 but NEVER for Earth

Scripture Lookup

1. Isaiah 40:22 - "...the of the earth..."

Hebrew word used:

2. Job 26:10 - "He hath compassed the waters with ..."

3. Proverbs 8:27 - "...when he set a upon the face of the depth."

Lesson 6: Pillars, Foundations, and Immovability

Fill in the Blanks

1. Psalm 93:1 - "...the world... cannot be ."

2. Psalm 104:5 - "Who laid the ... should not be for ever."

3. 1 Samuel 2:8 - "...the of the earth are Yahuah's..."

Critical Thinking

4. Modern science says Earth spins at 1,000 mph and orbits at 67,000 mph. How does this compare with "cannot be moved"?

SCRIPTURE MEMORY: Psalm 104:5

"Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever."

Lesson 7: Heliocentrism's Origins & Church History

"The fool wants to turn the whole art of astronomy upside-down. However, as Holy Scripture tells us, so did Joshua bid the sun to stand still and not the earth."
Martin Luther (1539)

Reflection

1. Why did the Protestant Reformers reject the heliocentric model?

2. Was the church's opposition based on ignorance, or commitment to Scripture?

Lesson 8: Modern Cosmology Contradictions

True or False

1. NASA admits "Blue Marble" images are composites, not single photos.

2. Stars are clearly visible in most photos from "space" or the moon.

The Van Allen Belts

3. What are they, and what problem do they pose for space travel?

Lesson 10: Addressing Objections

Objection 1: "The Bible uses poetic language."

Response: Genesis 1 is historical narrative. Joshua and Chronicles state facts, not metaphors.

Objection 2: "What about satellites and GPS?"

Response: Ground-based systems (LORAN) existed before satellites. High-altitude balloons and towers achieve similar results.

Objection 3: "Why would they lie?"

Read Psalm 2:1-3. Who conspires against Yahuah?

Final Reflection

Are you willing to trust Yahuah's Word even when it contradicts the world's majority opinion?

SCRIPTURE MEMORY: 1 Thessalonians 5:21

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
