Adult | 6Rs Method

How to Use This Workbook (6Rs)

Follow each lesson: Receive (learn), Reflect (questions), Recall (memory), Recite (teach-back), Review (spaced checks), Respond (apply).

Lessons

1Torah Defined as Instruction

RECEIVE

Torah = instruction from the root "yarah" (to point, to teach). Sin = "missing the mark."

Torah is Yahuah's guidance, not merely legal code. It points toward the target of righteous living. The Hebrew links Torah (instruction) with sin (missing the mark) and moreh (teacher).

REFLECT

RECALL

List the three Hebrew connections: Torah, sin (missing the mark), moreh.

RECITE

Explain to a friend why "law" is an incomplete translation of Torah.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Write one area where you want Yahuah's instruction to "aim" your life.

2Yahusha Did Not Abolish (Matthew 5:17-19)

RECEIVE

Yahusha: "Do not think I came to abolish but to fulfill." Fulfill (pleroo) = fill up, bring to fullness; abolish (kataluo) = tear down. Heaven and earth still stand; not one yod or tittle passes.

REFLECT

RECALL

Quote or summarize Matthew 5:17 in your own words.

RECITE

Teach back the difference between abolish and fulfill.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

List one command Yahusha heightened (e.g., anger = murder of the heart) and how you'll live it.

3Faith Establishes Torah (Romans 3 & 7)

RECEIVE

Romans 3:31: "Do we make void the law through faith? Certainly not! We establish it." Romans 7:12: "The law is holy, just, and good."

REFLECT

RECALL

State Romans 3:31 from memory.

RECITE

Explain to someone how Romans 7 defends Torah.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Identify one command you will "establish" in practice this week.

4Under Law vs Under Grace (Romans 6; Gal 5)

RECEIVE

"Under law" = under condemnation/slavery of sin. "Under grace" = under Yahuah's favor and power to obey. Paul rejects sinning because of grace (Romans 6:15).

REFLECT

RECALL

Summarize Romans 6:14-15 in your own words.

RECITE

Explain to a friend what "under law" really means.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Write a short declaration rejecting sin's mastery because you are under grace.

5Faith and Works Together (James 2)

RECEIVE

Faith without works is dead. Works complete (teleioo) faith; Abraham and Rahab illustrate living faith. Torah is called the "law of liberty."

REFLECT

RECALL

State James' conclusion about faith without works.

RECITE

Explain "law of liberty" in your own words.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Pick one act of obedience this week that flows from love, not duty.

6Galatians in Context (Paidagogos)

RECEIVE

Galatians addresses justification by faith vs works of law. Paidagogos = guardian/slave escort until maturity. Torah leads to Messiah; not abolished for moral content, but its condemning guardianship ends.

REFLECT

RECALL

Explain paidagogos in one sentence.

RECITE

Teach someone why Galatians does not abolish Torah's moral instruction.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Write one line separating justification (by faith) from sanctification (Spirit-led obedience).

7New Covenant: Torah on Hearts (Jer 31; Heb 8)

RECEIVE

"I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts." – Hebrews 8:10

New Covenant changes location and power, not moral content. Spirit inscribes Torah internally; priesthood and sacrifices change, moral instruction remains.

REFLECT

RECALL

Summarize the two big changes: location and power.

RECITE

Explain Hebrews 8:10 to someone unfamiliar with Torah.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Pray Ezekiel 36:26-27 personally; journal any conviction or encouragement.

8What Was Nailed to the Cross? (Colossians 2)

RECEIVE

Cheirographon = handwritten record of debt; nailed to the cross. Not Torah itself but the IOU of our violations. Paul uses dogma, not nomos.

REFLECT

RECALL

State in one sentence what was nailed to the cross.

RECITE

Teach back why Col 2 does not abolish Torah's morality.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Write a thank-you prayer for your debt record being nailed to the cross.

9Liberty vs Lawlessness (1 John, Romans 8)

RECEIVE

Sin = lawlessness (anomia). Liberty is freedom from sin's dominion, not freedom to sin. Love keeps commandments; commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5:3).

REFLECT

RECALL

Quote or paraphrase 1 John 3:4.

RECITE

Explain why love and obedience cannot be separated.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Write one way you will walk in liberty without slipping into lawlessness.

10Walking by the Spirit to Fulfill Righteousness

RECEIVE

Romans 8:4: The righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in us who walk by the Spirit. Spirit produces fruit that aligns with Torah's intent: love of Yahuah and neighbor.

REFLECT

RECALL

State Romans 8:4 in your own words.

RECITE

Teach a peer how Spirit-empowered life fulfills Torah's just demand.

REVIEW

Review checks: 1 □ 3 □ 7 □ 21 □ 60 □

RESPOND

Pray Galatians 5:22-23 and choose one fruit to practice intentionally.
