Restoring the Biblical Sabbath
TRUTH CARRIERS EDUCATION SYSTEM
Torah Foundations Series - Adult Core
Introduction: The Sabbath is the most attacked, most ignored, and most misunderstood commandment in modern Christianity. Yet it is the ONLY commandment that begins with "REMEMBER"โas if Yahuah knew we would forget it. This workbook exposes the historical change from Saturday to Sunday, examines what Scripture actually says, and provides practical steps for restoring biblical Sabbath observance in your life.
What You Will Learn:
Sacred Names Used: Yahuah (not LORD), Yahusha (not Jesus), Elohim (God), Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit)
Study Time: 8-10 hours (8 comprehensive lessons)
Opening Prayer: "Yahuah, reveal Your truth about the Sabbath. Give us eyes to see what Scripture actually says, not what tradition teaches. Help us distinguish between Your commands and man's additions. Give us courage to obey even when the whole world disagrees. In Yahusha's name, amen."
โ ๏ธ IMPORTANT: READ THIS SECTION BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY LESSONS!
This study guide contains ALL the information you need to successfully complete this workbook. You are NOT expected to guess answers! Everything you need to know is provided here. Review these materials carefully, and refer back to them as you work through each lesson.
Learning Approach: "I SEE (study guide) โ I LEARN (lessons) โ I DO (application) โ I TEACH (share with others)"
All key verses are provided in FULL below. You will need these for the lessons!
"By the seventh day Elohim had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then Elohim blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."
Key Point: Three divine actions: (1) Rested, (2) Blessed, (3) Made Holy. ONLY day with this honor.
"Then Yahuah said to Moses, 'I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day... On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.'"
"On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much... Moses said, 'Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to Yahuah... Six days you are to gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.'"
Key Point: This happened BEFORE Mount Sinai, BEFORE the Ten Commandments were given. Sabbath already existed!
"REMEMBER the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahuah your Elohim. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore Yahuah blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."
Key Point: "REMEMBER" (not create or establish). Points back to Genesis 2. Includes EVERYONE - children, servants, foreigners, even animals!
"You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am Yahuah, who makes you holy... The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed."
Key Point: "Lasting covenant" and "forever" - not temporary! Sign between Yahuah and His people.
"'As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,' declares Yahuah, 'so will your name and descendants endure. From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,' says Yahuah."
Key Point: Sabbath continues FOREVER in the new heavens and earth. ALL MANKIND will observe it.
"Then he said to them, 'The Sabbath was made for man (anthropos), not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.'"
Key Point: Greek "anthropos" = mankind/humanity (NOT "Ioudaios" = Jew). Made for ALL people as a GIFT.
"He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read..."
Key Point: "His custom" - Yahusha regularly, habitually kept the Sabbath. If He broke it, He would be a sinner (1 John 3:4).
"As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures..."
Key Point: Paul's "custom" - he regularly kept Sabbath, even when ministering to Gentiles.
"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest (sabbatismos) for the people of Elohim."
Key Point: Greek "sabbatismos" literally means "Sabbath-keeping." A Sabbath observance REMAINS for believers.
Strongs #7673
Meaning: To cease, desist, rest, stop working
First Use: Genesis 2:2 - "On the seventh day Elohim finished his work... he rested (shabat)"
Important Note: This is what ELOHIM did - He rested. We follow His pattern.
Strongs #1288
Meaning: To bless, kneel, praise, salute
Context: Genesis 2:3 - "Elohim blessed (barak) the seventh day"
Significance: Only the seventh day received Elohim's blessing at creation
Strongs #6942
Meaning: To consecrate, sanctify, set apart as sacred
Context: Genesis 2:3 - "...and made it holy (qadash)"
Significance: The seventh day is SET APART from the other six - it's different, special, holy
The Weekly Cycle - Established at creation, never broken throughout history
Calendar Changes - Days were skipped, but the weekly cycle remained intact
Languages Preserve Truth - Over 100 languages call Saturday "Sabbath"
What Makes Sabbath Special - Three things Elohim did ONLY for the seventh day

Answer:
Biblical Day: Sunset to sunset (Leviticus 23:32 - "from evening to evening")
Modern Equivalent: Friday sunset to Saturday sunset
Preparation: Friday before sunset is "Preparation Day" (Mark 15:42, Luke 23:54)
| What IS Permitted (Encouraged) | What is NOT Permitted (Prohibited) |
|---|---|
| โ Rest and relaxation | โ Regular work/employment |
| โ Scripture study and prayer | โ Buying and selling (Nehemiah 10:31) |
| โ Fellowship and worship | โ Cooking elaborate meals (prepare beforehand) |
| โ Walks and time in nature | โ Pursuing your own business/interests |
| โ Family time and meals | โ Heavy labor or household projects |
| โ Healing and helping others | โ Traveling for business or pleasure trips |
| โ Necessary tasks (caring for animals, emergencies) | โ Kindling fire (traditionally - open to interpretation) |

Before Sin, Before Jews, For All Humanity
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
Notice what Elohim did on the seventh day - three specific, intentional actions:
| Action | Hebrew Word | Meaning | Significance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. RESTED | shabat (ืฉึธืืึทืช) | To cease, desist, stop | Elohim modeled REST for us |
| 2. BLESSED | barak (ืึธึผืจึทืึฐ) | To bless, praise | Placed His favor on this day ALONE |
| 3. MADE HOLY | qadash (ืงึธืึทืฉื) | To set apart, sanctify | Made it DIFFERENT from the other 6 days |
When was the Sabbath established? Genesis 2 - At CREATION
When did sin enter the world? Genesis 3 - AFTER the Sabbath was created
When did the Jewish people begin? Genesis 12 with Abraham - approximately 2,000 years AFTER creation
When were the Ten Commandments given? Exodus 20 at Mount Sinai - approximately 2,500 years AFTER creation
Look carefully at Genesis 1 and 2. Elohim did NOT bless:
ONLY the seventh day (Saturday) received three honors:
Question to ponder: If Elohim specifically set apart ONE day as holy, blessed, and sanctified, do we have the authority to change which day that is?
Word Used: แผฮฝฮธฯฯฯฮฟฯ (anthropos)
Meaning: Mankind, humanity, human being (generic term for people)
Word NOT Used: แผธฮฟฯ ฮดฮฑแฟฮฟฯ (Ioudaios) = Jew, Jewish person
Conclusion: Yahusha explicitly said the Sabbath was made for ALL HUMANITY, not just the Jewish nation. If He meant "only for Jews," He would have used "Ioudaios." He deliberately used "anthropos" - mankind.
The Sabbath is NOT part of:
The Sabbath IS part of:
Question 1: What are the THREE divine actions Elohim took on the seventh day?
Hint: Review the table "Three Divine Actions" in this lesson or the Study Guide.
Question 2: According to the timeline, when was the Sabbath established?
Hint: Check the "Critical Timeline" section in this lesson.
Question 3: In Mark 2:27, what Greek word did Yahusha use for "man" when He said "Sabbath was made for man"?
Hint: See the "Greek Word Study" box in this lesson or the glossary in the Study Guide.
If the statement is FALSE, write the CORRECT statement in the space provided.
Statement 1: The Sabbath was created at Mount Sinai when the Ten Commandments were given.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Statement 2: The Sabbath existed before Jews existed.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Statement 3: Elohim blessed and made holy all seven days of the week equally.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Statement 4: The Sabbath is part of creation order, just like marriage.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Match the Hebrew word with its meaning:
| Hebrew Word | Your Answer | Meaning Options |
| 1. Shabat (ืฉึธืืึทืช) | A. To set apart, make holy | |
| 2. Barak (ืึธึผืจึทืึฐ) | B. To cease, rest, stop | |
| 3. Qadash (ืงึธืึทืฉื) | C. To bless, praise |
Hint: Review the "Three Divine Actions" table or the Hebrew Word Studies in the Study Guide.
Application 1: How would you respond to someone who says "The Sabbath is only for Jews"?
Use at least TWO biblical facts from this lesson to form your answer.
Application 2: If the Sabbath was created BEFORE sin entered the world, what does that tell you about its purpose?
Think about it: Is the Sabbath a burden/curse, or a blessing/gift?
Discussion 1: Why do you think Elohim chose to bless and sanctify ONLY the seventh day? What makes it uniquely special compared to the other six days?
Discussion 2: Compare the Sabbath to marriage (both established in Genesis 2). If someone said "Marriage is only for Jews," how would you respond? Does the same logic apply to Sabbath?
Before this lesson, what did you believe about the Sabbath? Has anything changed? What is one thing you learned that surprised you or challenged your previous understanding?
The Manna Miracle Proves Sabbath Existed Before the Law
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
WHERE ARE WE IN THE STORY?
โ Israel has LEFT Egypt (Exodus 12-14)
โ They crossed the Red Sea (Exodus 14)
โ They are in the wilderness of Sin (Exodus 16:1)
โ They have NOT yet arrived at Mount Sinai
โ The Ten Commandments have NOT been given yet (that's Exodus 20, four chapters later!)
CONCLUSION: Whatever happens with the manna is BEFORE the Law was given at Sinai!
Notice: They are "between Elim and Sinai" - they haven't reached Sinai yet!
| Day | Manna Provided | If They Saved Extra | Command |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | One omer per person | Bred worms, smelled (Ex 16:20) | Gather daily, don't save |
| Day 2 | One omer per person | Bred worms, smelled | Gather daily, don't save |
| Day 3 | One omer per person | Bred worms, smelled | Gather daily, don't save |
| Day 4 | One omer per person | Bred worms, smelled | Gather daily, don't save |
| Day 5 | One omer per person | Bred worms, smelled | Gather daily, don't save |
| Day 6 (Preparation) | TWO omers per person | Did NOT spoil! (Ex 16:24) | Gather DOUBLE, save for Sabbath |
| Day 7 (Sabbath) | ZERO - No manna fell! | N/A - Eat yesterday's portion | REST - Do not go out to gather |
Notice the MIRACLES Elohim performed to enforce the Sabbath:
This is BEFORE Mount Sinai!
This is BEFORE the Ten Commandments were written in stone!
Yet Yahuah says "How long will you refuse to keep MY COMMANDS?"
ANSWER: The Sabbath command ALREADY EXISTED! It wasn't created at Sinai - it was REMEMBERED at Sinai (Exodus 20:8 - "REMEMBER the Sabbath day").
Many people claim the Sabbath "began with the Law of Moses" and "ended at the cross." But Exodus 16 PROVES:
Question 1: When did the manna miracle happen in relation to Mount Sinai?
Question 2: What happened on Day 6 (Preparation Day)?
Question 3: What happened to people who went out on Day 7 to gather manna?
Question 4: In Exodus 16:28, what did Yahuah call the Sabbath?
Statement 1: The manna miracle happened AFTER the Ten Commandments were given at Mount Sinai.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Statement 2: On days 1-5, if people tried to save manna overnight, it bred worms and smelled bad.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Statement 3: On day 6, the manna they saved for Sabbath spoiled just like the other days.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Application: Someone tells you "The Sabbath began with Moses and the Law." Using the manna miracle, how would you respond? Write a 2-3 sentence answer.
Why do you think Yahuah used FOUR different miracles to enforce the Sabbath through the manna? What does this tell you about how important the Sabbath is to Him?
The word "REMEMBER" in the Fourth Commandment (Exodus 20:8) implies the Sabbath already existed. How does the manna miracle confirm this?
Remember the Sabbath Day - The Longest and Most Detailed Commandment
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
Think about it: You can only "REMEMBER" something that ALREADY EXISTS!
What are we remembering? We're remembering what Elohim did at CREATION (Genesis 2:2-3)!
| Part | Command | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Part 1 | "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy" | The POSITIVE command - what TO do (set it apart, make it special) |
| Part 2 | "Six days you shall labor" | Work is GOOD and ordained by Elohim - but limited to 6 days |
| Part 3 | "The seventh day is the Sabbath... do no work" | The NEGATIVE command - what NOT to do (cease from regular labor) |
| Part 4 | "For in six days Yahuah made..." | The REASON - memorial of CREATION, not Exodus/Law |
Compare the length of the commandments:
โ ๏ธ Think About This:
If the Sabbath was just a ceremonial law that would be "done away with," why would Elohim make it:
Conclusion: The Sabbath is NOT a minor detail - it's CENTRAL to Yahuah's covenant with His people!
Notice what the Fourth Commandment does NOT say:
โ It does NOT say "Remember that I brought you out of Egypt" (that's Deuteronomy 5's addition)
โ It does NOT point to the Exodus as the reason
โ It does NOT connect to Jewish history specifically
What it DOES say:
โ "For in SIX DAYS Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them"
โ Points back to CREATION WEEK (Genesis 1-2)
โ Universal significance - for ALL humanity, not just one nation
Creation (Genesis 2:2-3): Sabbath established at creation
โฌ๏ธ ~2,500 years
Exodus 16: Sabbath enforced BEFORE Sinai through manna
โฌ๏ธ ~2 months
Exodus 20:8-11: Sabbath included in Ten Commandments with word "REMEMBER"
โฌ๏ธ
Conclusion: The Fourth Commandment is REMEMBERING what already existed, not introducing something new!
Question 1: Why does the Fourth Commandment use the word "REMEMBER"?
Hint: Review "Why REMEMBER? - The Key Word" section.
Question 2: What is the REASON given in Exodus 20:11 for keeping the Sabbath?
Hint: Read Exodus 20:11 in the scripture box above.
Question 3: How long is the Fourth Commandment compared to the others?
Hint: Check "Why Is This the LONGEST Commandment?" section.
Question 4: According to Exodus 20:8-11, who is included in the Sabbath rest?
Hint: Read the full text of Exodus 20:8-11 carefully.
Statement 1: The Fourth Commandment says "BEGIN keeping the Sabbath."
If FALSE, write the correction:
Statement 2: The Sabbath commandment is the longest of the Ten Commandments.
Statement 3: The reason given for the Sabbath in Exodus 20:11 points back to the Exodus from Egypt.
If FALSE, write the correction:
Application: Someone argues "The Sabbath is just a ceremonial law that was done away with at the cross." Using THREE facts from this lesson, how would you respond?
Why do you think Elohim made the Sabbath commandment SO MUCH LONGER and more detailed than commandments like "don't murder" or "don't steal"? What does this tell you about its importance?
The Fourth Commandment connects the Sabbath to CREATION (not Exodus). What does this tell you about WHO the Sabbath is for? Is it just for Jews, or for all humanity?
The Messiah's Sabbath Practice - Lord OF the Sabbath, Not Abolisher
"As His custom was" - This phrase is critical!
Question: If Yahusha came to abolish the Sabbath, why did He consistently keep it throughout His entire ministry?
| โ Pharisaic TRADITIONS (man-made rules) | โ Yahuah's TRUE SABBATH (biblical command) |
|---|---|
| Can't heal on Sabbath | Doing GOOD on Sabbath is lawful (Matt 12:12) |
| Can't pick grain to eat | Meeting basic needs is permitted (Matt 12:1-8) |
| 39 prohibited categories of work | Rest from regular labor; worship & acts of mercy allowed |
| Burdensome, legalistic | A DELIGHT and blessing (Isaiah 58:13) |
โ ๏ธ Critical Understanding:
When Yahusha "broke" the Sabbath in the Pharisees' eyes, He was breaking THEIR TRADITIONS, not Yahuah's commandment!
He was RESTORING the Sabbath to its original purpose - rest, worship, and mercy - not abolishing it!
What "Lord OF the Sabbath" means:
What it does NOT mean:
Think about it: If you're lord OF a house, does that mean you destroy the house? No! It means you OWN it and have authority OVER it!
Yahusha healed on the Sabbath at least SEVEN times:
His point? "It is lawful to do GOOD on the Sabbath" (Matthew 12:12)
Question 1: According to Luke 4:16, what was Yahusha's custom regarding the Sabbath?
Question 2: When Yahusha "broke" the Sabbath in the Pharisees' eyes, what was He actually breaking?
Question 3: What does "Lord OF the Sabbath" mean?
Application: If Yahusha came to abolish the Sabbath, why did He keep it "as His custom" throughout His entire ministry? Write a 2-3 sentence response.
The Sabbath as a Sign Between Yahuah and His People
The Sabbath is a SIGN that:
It's like a wedding ring - a visible sign of a covenant relationship!
A legal seal must contain THREE elements:
| Element | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 1. NAME | Who is the authority? | "Yahuah" (the Creator's name) |
| 2. TITLE | What is their position/office? | "Made" (Creator) |
| 3. TERRITORY | What is their domain? | "The heavens and the earth" |
๐ Compare to other commandments:
The Sabbath commandment is the ONLY one that identifies WHO Elohim is!
| โ Seal of Yahuah | โ Mark of the Beast |
|---|---|
| 7th day Sabbath (Friday sunset - Saturday sunset) | Sunday (1st day) - man's tradition |
| Established by Yahuah at Creation | Established by Roman Catholic Church (321 AD) |
| Command from Scripture | Tradition of men |
| Honors Yahuah as Creator | Honors the sun (dies solis = sun-day) |
| Sign of loyalty to Yahuah | Sign of allegiance to papal authority |
Question 1: According to Ezekiel 20:12, what is the Sabbath?
Question 2: What THREE elements must a valid seal contain?
Question 3: Where do we find Yahuah's seal (name, title, territory) in the Ten Commandments?
Application: Why is it significant that the Sabbath commandment is the ONLY one that identifies WHO Elohim is (as Creator)? What does this tell you about the importance of the Sabbath?
Practical Guidelines for Sabbath Observance
Biblical Day = Sunset to Sunset
Why sunset? Genesis 1 counts days as "evening and morning" - the day starts with evening!
โ The Sabbath is FOR:
โ Avoid on Sabbath:
Principle: If it's "your own pleasure" (Isaiah 58:13) rather than honoring Yahuah, reconsider!
How to DELIGHT in the Sabbath:
Question 1: When does the biblical Sabbath begin and end?
Question 2: What is "Preparation Day"?
Question 3: According to Isaiah 58:13, how should we view the Sabbath?
Application: Create your own Sabbath preparation checklist. What will YOU do on Friday to prepare for Sabbath? List at least 5 specific things.
The Apostles, Early Church, and Sabbath Practice
โ ๏ธ Critical Observation:
The Gentiles asked Paul to preach to them again. Paul had the PERFECT opportunity to say:
But what did Paul do?
If the Sabbath was abolished at the cross, why didn't Paul tell them?
The Issue: Did Gentiles need to be circumcised and follow ceremonial laws?
The Decision: No - Gentiles don't need circumcision or ceremonial requirements
The Requirements Given (Acts 15:20):
๐ What's MISSING from Acts 15?
Why? Because the moral law (Ten Commandments) was NEVER in question! The debate was about CEREMONIAL laws (circumcision, sacrifices, etc.)
Acts 15:21 explains: "For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath."
The Gentiles would HEAR the law every Sabbath at synagogue!
| โ Moral Law (Permanent) | ๐๏ธ Ceremonial Law (Fulfilled in Yahusha) |
|---|---|
| Ten Commandments | Sacrificial system |
| Written by Yahuah's finger in stone | Written by Moses in a book |
| Placed INSIDE the Ark of the Covenant | Placed BESIDE the Ark |
| Defines sin (Romans 7:7) | Pointed to Yahusha's sacrifice |
| Sabbath (4th Commandment) | Yearly feast sabbaths, new moons |
| STILL BINDING | Fulfilled/Abolished at cross |
Historical Timeline:
โ ๏ธ Key Facts:
Question 1: In Acts 13:42-44, the Gentiles wanted to hear more from Paul. What did Paul tell them to do?
Question 2: What was the Council of Jerusalem (Acts 15) debating?
Question 3: When did the first Sunday law occur?
Application: What is the difference between ceremonial laws (abolished at the cross) and the moral law (Ten Commandments, still binding)? Give at least TWO differences.
The Final Test - Seal of Yahuah vs. Mark of the Beast
โ ๏ธ Critical Understanding:
Think about it: If the Sabbath was "done away with" at the cross, why will we be keeping it in the New Earth for all eternity?
Prophetic Scenario:
| Seal of Yahuah | Mark of the Beast |
|---|---|
| 7th-day Sabbath (Yahuah's authority) | Sunday (papal/human authority) |
| Obedience to Yahuah's commandment | Obedience to tradition of men |
| In the FOREHEAD (mind - belief) and HAND (actions) | In the FOREHEAD (accept the lie) and HAND (comply under pressure) |
| Identifies you as loyal to the Creator | Identifies you as loyal to the Beast system |
| Results in eternal life (Revelation 14:12) | Results in eternal destruction (Revelation 14:9-11) |
The Final Remnant:
Question 1: According to Isaiah 66:22-23, will the Sabbath be kept in the New Earth?
Question 2: What does Revelation 14:12 say about the end-time remnant?
Question 3: What will be the final test of loyalty according to this lesson?
Personal Commitment: After completing this entire workbook, are you willing to keep the 7th-day Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) in obedience to Yahuah's command? What challenges do you foresee, and how will you overcome them?
"Yahuah, I thank You for revealing the truth about Your holy Sabbath. Thank You that it is not a burden but a blessingโa gift of rest and relationship with You. Help me to honor Your Sabbath from this day forward. Give me courage to stand firm even when it's difficult. I choose to receive Your seal, not the mark of the beast. In Yahusha's name, Amen."
Use this section to check your answers after completing each lesson. Remember: The goal is LEARNING, not perfection!
Q1: B - He rested, He blessed it, He made it holy
Q2: B - At creation, BEFORE sin and BEFORE Jews existed
Q3: B - Anthropos (mankind/humanity)
Statement 1: FALSE - Correction: "The Sabbath was created at CREATION (Genesis 2), approximately 2,500 years BEFORE Mount Sinai."
Statement 2: TRUE
Statement 3: FALSE - Correction: "Elohim blessed and made holy ONLY the seventh day, not all seven days."
Statement 4: TRUE
1-B (Shabat = to cease, rest), 2-C (Barak = to bless), 3-A (Qadash = to make holy)
App 1: "I would point out two facts: (1) The Sabbath was established at CREATION, 2000 years before Jews existed (Genesis 2), and (2) Yahusha said the Sabbath was made for 'mankind' (anthropos), not just Jews (Mark 2:27)."
App 2: "Since the Sabbath was created BEFORE sin, it cannot be part of the curse. It's a BLESSING and GIFT from Elohim for our benefit and rest."
Q1: C - BEFORE they arrived at Mount Sinai and BEFORE the Ten Commandments
Q2: C - DOUBLE portion appeared, and it did NOT spoil overnight
Q3: B - They found NONE
Q4: B - MY COMMAND (implying it already existed)
Statement 1: FALSE - Correction: "The manna miracle happened BEFORE Mount Sinai and BEFORE the Ten Commandments (Exodus 16 comes before Exodus 20)."
Statement 2: TRUE
Statement 3: FALSE - Correction: "On day 6, the manna saved for Sabbath did NOT spoil - it was preserved supernaturally (Exodus 16:24)."
"The manna miracle in Exodus 16 happened BEFORE the Law was given at Sinai (Exodus 20). Yet Yahuah already called the Sabbath 'My command' and enforced it through four miracles. This proves the Sabbath existed BEFORE the Law of Moses."
Q1: A - It proves the Sabbath already existed BEFORE Mount Sinai
Q2: B - FOUR parts
Q3: C - 94 words (compared to 2-9 words for other commandments)
Q4: B - GENESIS (not Exodus - it points BACKWARD to Creation)
Statement 1: TRUE - Yahuah emphasized the Fourth Commandment by making it the longest and most detailed.
Statement 2: FALSE - Correction: "The Fourth Commandment points to GENESIS (Creation week), not Exodus."
Statement 3: TRUE - All creation rested on the seventh day - animals, land, humanity.
"The word 'REMEMBER' in Exodus 20:8 proves the Sabbath already existed before Sinai. You can only 'remember' something that already happened in the past. Yahuah was reminding His people of something they had forgotten or neglected - the holy Sabbath He established at Creation."
Q1: "Yahuah made the Fourth Commandment the longest because He knew humans would try to change it, forget it, or rationalize it away. He gave extensive detail so there would be NO CONFUSION about which day, why it matters, and who it applies to (everyone who rests under heaven)."
Q2: "The Fourth Commandment points to CREATION, not the Exodus. This proves it's a UNIVERSAL law for all mankind, not just a Jewish ceremonial law. It predates Israel by 2,500 years and applies to all humans since we ALL descended from Adam and Eve who received the Sabbath at Creation."
Q1: C - It was His regular custom - He consistently kept the Sabbath
Q2: B - He has AUTHORITY OVER the Sabbath (to define its proper use)
Q3: C - He was demonstrating the Sabbath is for MERCY and GOOD, not legalistic restriction
"I would say: 'If Yahusha came to abolish the Sabbath, why did He keep it faithfully throughout His entire ministry (Luke 4:16)? Why did He say He is LORD OF the Sabbath (not abolisher of it)? Why did He heal on Sabbath to show its TRUE purpose, instead of just ignoring it? His actions prove the Sabbath continues - He was correcting FALSE traditions, not eliminating the Sabbath itself.'"
Q1: C - Name, Title, Territory (all three elements)
Q2: B - The FOURTH Commandment (the Sabbath commandment)
Q3: C - "Yahuah MADE the heavens and the earth" (Name: Yahuah, Title: Made/Creator, Territory: heavens and earth)
"The Sabbath is the SIGN between Yahuah and His people (Ezekiel 20:12, 20). It identifies WHO we worship (the Creator) and WHO we belong to (His covenant people). Sunday worship has NO biblical command and was instituted by human/papal authority. Keeping the true Sabbath is how we receive Yahuah's seal - the sign of His authority as Creator - rather than accepting the mark of the beast (human authority replacing Yahuah's law)."
Q1: B - From sunset Friday to sunset Saturday
Q2: C - Visiting the sick, helping someone in need, rescuing an animal
Q3: B - A DELIGHT (Isaiah 58:13-14)
"To prepare for Sabbath, I would: (1) Complete my work by Friday afternoon, (2) Prepare meals in advance so I don't have to cook on Sabbath, (3) Clean my home on Friday so it's peaceful, (4) Gather my Bible and study materials, (5) Plan to turn off distractions like TV and social media, (6) Set aside time for worship, Scripture reading, prayer, and rest. I want to enter Sabbath ready to focus on Yahuah, not scrambling with unfinished tasks."
Q1: C - The next Sabbath (Acts 13:42-44)
Q2: C - Circumcision and animal sacrifices (ceremonial laws that pointed to Messiah)
Q3: B - Constantine (Roman Emperor, 321 AD)
"Ceremonial laws (like animal sacrifices, circumcision requirements, food rituals, ceremonial washings) were SHADOWS pointing forward to Yahusha and were fulfilled/completed at the cross. Moral laws (like the Ten Commandments - don't murder, steal, commit adultery, lie, AND keep the Sabbath) are Yahuah's eternal character and standards of righteousness that never change. The Sabbath is part of the moral law written in stone, not the ceremonial law written by Moses."
Q1: C - From one Sabbath to another (Isaiah 66:22-23)
Q2: C - They keep Yahuah's commandments AND have the testimony of Yahusha (Revelation 12:17)
Q3: B - Obedience to Yahuah's law (specifically the Sabbath) when the world enforces Sunday laws
This is a personal decision between you and Yahuah. There is no "right answer" to fill in - only honest reflection. If you checked "Yes," may Yahuah bless your obedience and give you strength to stand firm. If you checked "Not sure yet," continue studying and praying - Yahuah will lead you into all truth (John 16:13). Don't let fear hold you back from obeying Him.
