Put your hand on your chest. Feel that?

That's your heartbeat - a steady BEAT!

Music has a beat just like your heart! πŸ’“

"Sing unto Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise." - Psalm 33:3

For Parents

Have your child march to music, feeling the beat. Clap along with songs on the radio.

2The Steady Beat

πŸ’“πŸ₯πŸ’“πŸ₯

The beat is the steady pulse in music. It never stops while the music is playing!

BEAT - BEAT - BEAT - BEAT

Tempo means how fast or slow the music goes.

4Loud and Soft (Dynamics)

πŸ”Š πŸ”ˆ

Dynamics means how loud or soft the music is.

πŸ”Š LOUD = forte (say "FOR-tay")

πŸ”ˆ SOFT = piano (say "pee-AH-no")

Activity: Echo Singing

Parent sings, child echoes back!

LOUD: "PRAISE YAHUAH!" β†’ (child) "PRAISE YAHUAH!"

soft: "praise yahuah" β†’ (child) "praise yahuah"

Mix it up! Can the child guess which one comes next?

When Do We Sing Loud or Soft?

"Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." - Psalm 98:4
Sometimes Yahuah wants us to be LOUD in our praise!

5High and Low (Pitch)
