RECEIVE - Learn About It!

Long ago, people were being very bad. But Noah loved Yahuah and obeyed Him. Yahuah told Noah to build a BIG boat called an ark. It was longer than a football field!

"Noah found grace in the eyes of Yahuah." - Genesis 6:8
The ark was about 450 feet long - that is bigger than many ships today! Noah worked on it for many years.

REFLECT - Answer the Questions!

2Water From Above and Below

RECEIVE - Learn About It!

When the flood started, water came from two places! Rain fell from the sky for 40 days. But water also burst up from under the ground! The Bible calls this the "fountains of the great deep."

"The fountains of the great deep burst open, and the windows of heaven were opened." - Genesis 7:11
Imagine water shooting up from the ground like giant fountains while rain poured down at the same time! That is a LOT of water!

REFLECT - Answer the Questions!

Circle the right answer:

5. Where did the flood water come from?

6. How long did it rain?

True or False? Circle one:

7. The "fountains of the deep" means water came from underground.

8. The flood was just a little bit of rain.

RECALL - Draw What You Learned!

Draw rain coming down and water shooting up from the ground.

RESPOND - Do It With a Parent!

3Water Covered Everything

RECEIVE - Learn About It!

The flood was not just a big puddle. The water covered the whole earth - even the tall mountains! That is why we find seashells on top of mountains today. The water was everywhere!

"The waters covered all the high mountains under the whole heaven." - Genesis 7:19
People have found sea creature fossils on Mount Everest - the tallest mountain in the world! The flood waters really did cover everything.

REFLECT - Answer the Questions!

Circle the right answer:

9. How much of the earth did the water cover?

10. Why do we find seashells on mountains?

True or False? Circle one:

11. The flood only covered low places.

12. Sea fossils on mountains show the flood was real.

RECALL - Draw What You Learned!

Draw mountains with water covering them and the ark floating on top.

RESPOND - Do It With a Parent!

4Animals on the Ark

RECEIVE - Learn About It!

Yahuah brought two of every kind of animal to Noah - one boy and one girl. The animals came by themselves! Yahuah made them come to the ark. Noah did not have to catch them.

"Two of every kind shall come to you to keep them alive." - Genesis 6:20
Animals on the ark included: Lions, bears, birds, snakes, sheep, horses, monkeys, elephants, and many more! But only land animals - fish could swim!
Scientists think there were about 7,000 kinds of animals on the ark. Many were young animals that did not take up much room!

REFLECT - Answer the Questions!

Circle the right answer:

13. Who brought the animals to Noah?

14. How many of each kind came?

True or False? Circle one:

15. Fish needed to be on the ark.

16. Yahuah helped Noah by bringing the animals.

RECALL - Draw What You Learned!

Draw your favorite animals walking into the ark two by two.

5Rocks Made Fast

RECEIVE - Learn About It!

When the flood water moved fast, it picked up mud, sand, and dirt. This made thick layers that turned into rock. Some people say rocks take millions of years. But fast-moving water can make layers very quickly!

"The world that then existed was destroyed, being flooded with water." - 2 Peter 3:6
When a volcano erupted in 1980, it made rock layers in just HOURS - not millions of years! The flood could do the same thing.

REFLECT - Answer the Questions!

Circle the right answer:

17. How can rock layers form?

18. What did the flood water carry?

True or False? Circle one:

19. Rock layers always take millions of years to form.

20. A volcano made rock layers in just hours.

RECALL - Draw What You Learned!

Draw layers of colorful rock with a fossil in one layer.

RESPOND - Do It With a Parent!

6Fossils Tell the Story

RECEIVE - Learn About It!

Fossils are animals and plants that got buried in mud and turned to stone. For something to become a fossil, it has to be buried very fast - before it rots away. The flood buried billions of creatures quickly!

"Every living thing that moved on the earth died." - Genesis 7:21
Scientists found fish fossils that were frozen while eating other fish! That shows they were buried super fast - in seconds!

REFLECT - Answer the Questions!

Circle the right answer:

21. What is a fossil?

22. How fast must something be buried to become a fossil?

True or False? Circle one:

23. Fish fossils show they were buried very fast.

RECEIVE - Learn About It!

After many months, the water started to go down. Mountains rose up higher and valleys sank down. The water rushed into the low places to make our oceans. Noah's ark landed on a mountain!

"The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place You established for them." - Psalm 104:8
The Grand Canyon may have been carved by flood water rushing away very fast! Moving water is very powerful.

REFLECT - Answer the Questions!

Circle the right answer:

25. Where did the flood water go?

26. Where did Noah's ark land?

True or False? Circle one:

27. Moving water can carve big canyons.

28. Yahuah made the mountains rise and valleys sink.

RECALL - Draw What You Learned!

Draw mountains with the ark on top and water running down into the valleys.

8The Rainbow Promise

RECEIVE - Learn About It!

After the flood, Yahuah made a promise to Noah. He put a beautiful rainbow in the sky. The rainbow is Yahuah's sign that He will never flood the whole earth again. Every rainbow reminds us of His promise!

"I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth." - Genesis 9:13
