Learning About Tzitzit — Ages 5-10
Truth Carriers Education System
Yahuah gave His people special strings called tzitzit (say: tsee-TSEET). These strings hang from clothes to remind us to obey Yahuah every day!
In this workbook, you'll learn:
Important Words: Yahuah = Heavenly Father | Yahusha = Messiah (Jesus) | Tzitzit = Special Strings
CHILD Tzitzit Garment
A long, long time ago, Yahuah gave His people special instructions. One of them was about strings on their clothes!
צִיצִת
Tzitzit (tsee-TSEET)
This is the Hebrew word for "tassel" or "special strings"!
Have you ever tied a string around your finger to remember something? Yahuah gave His people strings on their clothes to help them remember to obey Him ALL DAY LONG!
1. What are the special strings called in Hebrew?
○ A) Shalom
○ B) Tzitzit
○ C) Torah
2. Why did Yahuah want His people to wear special strings?
○ A) To look pretty
○ B) To remember to obey Him

When you look at tzitzit, you should _____________ Yahuah's commandments.
Close your workbook and tell a grown-up:
CHILD Tzitzit Blue Thread
Yahuah said to put a blue thread in the tzitzit. This wasn't just any blue — it was a very special blue color!
The blue dye came from a sea snail! It was very hard to make and very expensive. Only special things got this blue color — like the curtains in Yahuah's Temple!
Look up at the sky! It's blue!
The blue thread helps us look UP and think about our Heavenly Father!
1. What color thread goes in the tzitzit?
○ A) Red
○ B) Blue
○ C) Green
2. The blue thread helps us think about:
○ A) The ocean animals

○ C) Yahuah's throne in heaven
Draw some tzitzit (strings) with a blue thread in them. Color the blue thread!
Without looking, tell someone:
CHILD Tzitzit Yahusha Hem
Did you know that Yahusha (Jesus) wore tzitzit too? He followed Yahuah's instructions perfectly!
When the Bible says "edge" or "hem" of Yahusha's clothes, it means His tzitzit — His special strings! The woman touched His tassels and was healed!
Yahusha wore tzitzit because He loved Yahuah and obeyed all His rules. Yahusha is our example! If He wore special strings, we can learn from Him!
1. Did Yahusha wear tzitzit?
○ Yes! ○ No
2. What happened when the sick woman touched Yahusha's tzitzit?
○ A) Nothing
○ B) She was healed!
○ C) She fell down
3. Why did Yahusha wear tzitzit?

Tell the story of the sick woman to someone without looking!

Tzitzit (tassels) were commanded to be worn on the four corners of garments as perpetual reminders of Yahuah's commandments. This was not limited to priests but to all "children of Israel."
Matthew 9:20-22, 14:36, and Mark 6:56 reference the "hem" (Greek: kraspedon = fringe/tassel) of Yahusha's garment, confirming He wore tzitzit as a Torah-observant man.
Make simple "reminder strings" using yarn on a craft stick or bookmark. Each time the child sees it, they can remember one of Yahuah's commandments (honor parents, be kind, tell the truth, etc.).
1. B (Tzitzit) | 2. B (To remember to obey Him) | 3. remember
