His armor weighed about 125 pounds - that's like carrying a big dog around all day!

Goliath stood in front of the Israelite army and yelled at them every day for 40 days. He said: "Send someone to fight me! If he wins, we'll be your servants. If I win, you'll be OUR servants!"

All the soldiers were scared. Even King Saul was scared! But then a young shepherd boy named David showed up...

"You come to me with a sword and a spear and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of Yahuah of hosts!"
- 1 Samuel 17:45

Before the Israelites entered the Promised Land, Moses sent 12 spies to check it out. They came back with some AMAZING news... and some scary news!

The Good News:

The land was AMAZING! The grapes were so big that it took TWO men to carry just ONE cluster on a pole!

The Scary News:

10 of the spies said: "We can't go there! We saw the Nephilim (giants)! We looked like grasshoppers compared to them!"

"We saw the giants, the sons of Anak... and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."
- Numbers 13:33

But TWO spies - Joshua and Caleb - said something different:

"Do not fear the people of the land... Yahuah is with us. Do not fear them!"

"For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the giants. Behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron... nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth."
- Deuteronomy 3:11

The Rephaim
