Did you know that YOU are special to Yahuah? He calls you His treasured child!
Because we are special to Yahuah, He gave us special rules about what to eat. These rules help keep us healthy and strong!
"You are a holy people to Yahuah your Elohim. Yahuah has chosen you to be His special treasure."
- Deuteronomy 14:2
Yahuah says some foods are "clean" - these are good for us to eat!
Other foods are "unclean" - Yahuah says we should NOT eat these.
Yahuah made these food rules because He LOVES us! Just like your parents tell you not to eat too much candy, Yahuah tells us what's best for our bodies!

2Animals We CAN Eat!
RECEIVE - Learn About It!
Yahuah told us exactly which land animals are clean to eat. They need TWO things:
Split hooves - their feet are divided in two parts
Chew the cud - they eat grass, swallow it, bring it back up, and chew it again!
"Whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud - that you may eat."
- Leviticus 11:3
Clean Animals to Eat:
Cows
Sheep
Goats
Deer
Buffalo
🐄
Cow: Has split hooves AND chews the cud = CLEAN!
🐑
Sheep: Has split hooves AND chews the cud = CLEAN!
Cows have FOUR stomachs! They swallow their food, then bring it back up to chew it some more. This is called "chewing the cud." Yahuah made them special!

3Fish with Fins and Scales!
RECEIVE - Learn About It!
Yahuah also told us which fish we can eat! Clean fish need TWO things:
Fins - the parts that help fish swim
Scales - the little shiny pieces that cover their body
"These you may eat: whatever in the water has fins and scales."
- Leviticus 11:9
Clean Fish to Eat:
Salmon
Tuna
Tilapia
Trout
Bass
Not Clean - NO fins and scales:
Shrimp
Crab
Lobster
Catfish
Clams
Scales are like a fish's armor! They protect the fish and keep bad things out. Fish without scales don't have this protection - maybe that's why Yahuah said not to eat them!

Remember, clean land animals need TWO things: split hooves AND chew the cud.
The pig is tricky! Let's see:
Does it have split hooves? YES!
Does it chew the cud? NO!
The pig LOOKS like it might be clean on the outside, but it doesn't chew the cud. So it is NOT clean!
"The swine (pig), though it has a split hoof, does not chew the cud - it is unclean to you."
- Leviticus 11:7
Foods Made from Pig (Don't Eat These!):
Bacon
Ham
Pork chops
Hot dogs (some)
