Yahuah was sad because people were so wicked. He decided to send a flood. But He wanted to save Noah!

Genesis 6:14, 17
"Make thee an ark of gopher wood... And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh."

What is an Ark?

An ARK is a really, really big boat! It had to be big enough to hold Noah, his family, and lots of animals!

The ark was HUGE! It was about 450 feet long (longer than a football field!), 75 feet wide, and 45 feet tall. It had THREE floors inside!

Did Yahuah bring DINOSAURS on the ark? YES! The Bible says Noah brought "every living thing" - that includes dinosaurs! They were probably young, smaller ones.

"Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens... and of beasts that are not clean by two."

"Clean" animals (like sheep and cows) came in sevens. Other animals came in twos!

When everyone was safe inside, the flood came!

Genesis 7:11-12

Where Did All the Water Come From?

Remember the waters ABOVE the firmament? During the flood, Yahuah opened "windows" in the sky and that water came pouring down! It rained for 40 days and 40 nights!

The Flood Covered EVERYTHING!

Genesis 7:19-20
"And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered."

The water covered even the tallest mountains!

Who Shut the Door?

YAHUAH shut the door of the ark! This shows that Yahuah protects those who obey Him!

Eight people were saved on the ark: Noah, his wife, their three sons (Shem, Ham, Japheth), and their three wives. Just 8 people from the whole world!

How Long Were They on the Ark?

Noah and his family were on the ark for about ONE WHOLE YEAR! That's a long time to take care of all those animals!

Every time you see a rainbow, remember: Yahuah promised He will NEVER flood the whole earth again!

"And Noah builded an altar unto Yahuah... and offered burnt offerings on the altar."

The FIRST thing Noah did was thank Yahuah!

The rainbow has SEVEN colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Some people remember it with "ROY G BIV"!
