1Noah Was a Good Man

A long, long time ago, there lived a man named Noah. He was very special!

Genesis 6:8-9
"Noah found grace in the eyes of Yahuah... Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with Elohim."

What Made Noah Special?

He was a JUST man (he did what was right)
He was PERFECT in his generations (his family was special)
He WALKED WITH ELOHIM (he obeyed Yahuah)

The world around Noah was very BAD. People were mean and did wicked things. But Noah stayed good! He chose to obey Yahuah even when everyone else did wrong.

2Yahuah Told Noah to Build an Ark

Yahuah was sad because people were so wicked. He decided to send a flood. But He wanted to save Noah!

Genesis 6:14, 17
"Make thee an ark of gopher wood... And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh."

What is an Ark?

An ARK is a really, really big boat! It had to be big enough to hold Noah, his family, and lots of animals!

The ark was HUGE! It was about 450 feet long (longer than a football field!), 75 feet wide, and 45 feet tall. It had THREE floors inside!

3The Animals Came Two by Two!

Yahuah told Noah to bring animals onto the ark - TWO of every kind!

Genesis 6:19-20
"And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female."

What Animals Came?

Lions Elephants Birds Horses Dogs Cats Snakes Bears Monkeys And MANY more!

Did Yahuah bring DINOSAURS on the ark? YES! The Bible says Noah brought "every living thing" - that includes dinosaurs! They were probably young, smaller ones.

Some Animals Came in SEVENS!

Genesis 7:2
"Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens... and of beasts that are not clean by two."

"Clean" animals (like sheep and cows) came in sevens. Other animals came in twos!

4The Great Flood!

When everyone was safe inside, the flood came!

Genesis 7:11-12
"The same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights."

Where Did All the Water Come From?

FOUNTAINS OF THE DEEP - Water burst up from underground!
WINDOWS OF HEAVEN - Water poured down from above the firmament!

Remember the waters ABOVE the firmament? During the flood, Yahuah opened "windows" in the sky and that water came pouring down! It rained for 40 days and 40 nights!

The Flood Covered EVERYTHING!

Genesis 7:19-20
"And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered."

The water covered even the tallest mountains!

5Safe on the Ark!

Noah, his family, and all the animals were SAFE inside the ark!

Genesis 7:16
"And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as Elohim had commanded him: and Yahuah shut him in."

Who Shut the Door?

YAHUAH shut the door of the ark! This shows that Yahuah protects those who obey Him!

Eight people were saved on the ark: Noah, his wife, their three sons (Shem, Ham, Japheth), and their three wives. Just 8 people from the whole world!

How Long Were They on the Ark?

Noah and his family were on the ark for about ONE WHOLE YEAR! That's a long time to take care of all those animals!

6The Rainbow Promise!

After the flood, Yahuah made a beautiful promise to Noah!

Genesis 9:13-15
"I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth... and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."

The Rainbow is Yahuah's Promise!

Every time you see a rainbow, remember: Yahuah promised He will NEVER flood the whole earth again!

What Did Noah Do After the Flood?

Genesis 8:20
"And Noah builded an altar unto Yahuah... and offered burnt offerings on the altar."

The FIRST thing Noah did was thank Yahuah!

The rainbow has SEVEN colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Some people remember it with "ROY G BIV"!
