Definition: A written account of someone's life (bio = life + graph = write)

Scripture /ˈskrip-chər/ noun

Definition: Sacred writings; the Bible (script = written)

Example: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of Elohim." (2 Timothy 3:16)

dictate /ˈdik-ˌtāt/ verb

Definition: To say words for someone to write down; to give orders (dict = say)

Example: "Paul would dictate his letters while a scribe wrote them."

RECEIVE - Finding Meaning from Surroundings

Context clues are hints in surrounding words that help you understand unknown words.

Types of Context Clues:

covenant /ˈkə-və-nənt/ noun

Definition: A solemn agreement or promise, often between Yahuah and His people

Example: "Yahuah made a covenant with Abraham, promising to make his descendants as numerous as the stars."

righteousness /ˈrī-chəs-nəs/ noun

Definition: The quality of being morally right; living according to Yahuah's standards

Example: "Abraham believed Yahuah, and it was counted unto him for righteousness."

transgression /trans-ˈgre-shən/ noun

Definition: Violation of a law; sin (trans = across + gress = step = stepping across the line)

Example: "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered." (Psalm 32:1)

Definition: Facts or information that prove something is true

Example: "The evidence of creation is seen in the complexity of DNA."

significant /sig-ˈni-fi-kənt/ adjective

Definition: Important; having great meaning or impact

Example: "The Exodus was a significant event that shaped Israel's identity."

interpret /in-ˈtər-prət/ verb

Definition: To explain the meaning of something

Example: "Joseph was able to interpret Pharaoh's dreams by Yahuah's wisdom."

contrast /ˈkän-ˌtrast/ verb/noun

Definition: To show differences; a noticeable difference
