Genesis 5:24

The Man Who Never Died

Enoch was the generation from Adam. While everyone else in Genesis 5 "died," Enoch's record is different - Elohim simply "took him"!

Only Two People Never Died

In all of Scripture, only two people were taken to heaven without dying:

Hebrews 11:5
"By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because Elohim had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased Elohim."

The Bible says Enoch " with Elohim." This phrase means he had an incredibly close relationship with the Creator - so close that Elohim took him directly to heaven!

LESSON 4: The Watchers - Fallen Angels

עִירִין (Irim) = "Watchers" - from the root meaning "to be awake, watchful"

Used in Daniel 4:13, 17, 23 for angelic beings

What Does 1 Enoch Say About the Watchers?

According to 1 Enoch, a group of 200 angels called "Watchers" made a terrible decision. They:

Does the Bible Support This?

Yes! Look at these New Testament passages:

Jude 1:6
"And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."
2 Peter 2:4
"For if Elohim spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and delivered them into chains of darkness..."

Interesting Word!

"Tartarus" (Greek) is used ONLY in 2 Peter 2:4 - nowhere else in Scripture! In Greek mythology, Tartarus was the deepest pit. Peter uses this word for where the fallen angels are imprisoned - just like 1 Enoch describes!

The Most Important Evidence

Jude, writing under inspiration of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), directly from 1 Enoch 1:9!

What Does This Tell Us?

Does a Quote Make It All Scripture?

Not necessarily! The Apostle Paul also quoted Greek poets (Acts 17:28), but that doesn't make their entire works Scripture. However, Jude's quote IS significant because he calls Enoch a "" - one who speaks for Yahuah!

Multiple Choice

LESSON 7: Why Were These Books Excluded?

Why Enoch Was Excluded

In the Western church (~400 CE), leaders like Jerome and Augustine excluded Enoch because:
