Yahuah's Appointed Times (Moedim)
Youth Edition (Ages 12-17)This workbook uses the 6 Rs Learning Method to help you really understand and remember what you learn:
"These are the feasts of Yahuah, holy convocations which you shall proclaim" - Leviticus 23:2
Imagine if the Creator of the universe sent you a personal invitation: "Meet me at these specific times. I want to spend this day with you." That's exactly what the Biblical Feasts are!
Notice something important: The Bible doesn't call these "Jewish feasts." It calls them the Feasts of Yahuah. They belong to HIM, not to any ethnic group!
The Hebrew word for these feasts is moed (מועד), which means "appointed time" or "divine appointment." Think of it like a meeting scheduled by the King of the Universe!
| Season | Feast | Hebrew Name |
|---|---|---|
| Spring | 1. Passover | Pesach |
| 2. Unleavened Bread | Chag HaMatzot | |
| 3. Firstfruits | Bikkurim | |
| 4. Pentecost | Shavuot | |
| Fall | 5. Trumpets | Yom Teruah |
| 6. Atonement | Yom Kippur | |
| 7. Tabernacles | Sukkot |

What does leaven represent? In the Bible, leaven usually symbolizes sin:

Fifty days after Firstfruits comes Shavuot - the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost means "fiftieth").
On Shavuot, the priest waved TWO loaves of bread before Yahuah. These loaves were baked WITH leaven - the only time leavened bread was used in worship! This may represent Jews and Gentiles being brought together.

Before listing the annual feasts in Leviticus 23, Yahuah first mentions the WEEKLY Sabbath. It's the foundation!
