LESSON 1: THE HEBREW WORD "RAQIA"

📖 Hebrew Word: רָקִיעַ (RAQIA)

Pronunciation: raw-kee-AH

Meaning: Something that has been beaten out or spread out by hammering

Think of a blacksmith beating hot metal into thin sheets. That's what "raqia" means!

Bible Examples

Exodus 39:3 — "They beat the into thin plates."

Numbers 16:39 — "The censers were beaten into plates."
