The beast is not coming. It has been here for nearly 1,500 years.
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority." Revelation 13:1-2
This beast is a composite of all four beasts in Daniel 7. It has the body of a leopard (Greece), the feet of a bear (Medo-Persia), and the mouth of a lion (Babylon). It is not a new empire -- it is the accumulation of every pagan empire that came before it, concentrated into a single system.
The Papacy absorbed it all:
Changed times and laws (Daniel 7:25):
The 1,260 years: Daniel 7:25 prophesied the little horn would persecute the saints for "a time, times, and half a time" -- 3.5 prophetic years = 1,260 days = 1,260 literal years (day-year principle). From 538 AD (Justinian's decree establishing papal supremacy, Ostrogoths defeated) to 1798 AD (Napoleon's general Berthier takes Pope Pius VI prisoner). The deadly wound. The wound has been healing since the 1929 Lateran Treaty restored Vatican sovereignty.
"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon." Revelation 13:11
The earth beast has TWO layers of prophetic fulfillment: a historical layer and an end-times layer. Both are valid. Prophecy often operates on multiple levels.
| Characteristic | Historical Fulfillment |
|---|---|
| Rises from the earth (not the sea) | Eastern Roman Empire arose from the existing landmass of the empire, not from the churning "sea" of nations |
| Two horns like a lamb | Byzantium (political power) + Church (religious power) -- two powers claiming to serve the Messiah |
| Speaks as a dragon | Issued decrees of persecution, enforced religious conformity by imperial law |
| Exercises all power of the first beast | Justinian exercised the full authority of Rome's imperial system |
| Makes an image of the beast | Created the papal office -- an "image" (imago) of the Roman emperor in religious form |
| Causes the earth to worship | Justinian's Code mandated Christianity and penalized dissent with death |
| Characteristic | End-Times Fulfillment |
|---|---|
| Rises from the earth (sparsely populated area) | America rose in the "New World," away from the populated "sea" of nations in Europe/Asia |
| Two horns like a lamb | Civil liberty + Religious liberty -- two founding principles resembling the Lamb's kingdom |
| Speaks as a dragon | Military-industrial complex, global enforcement, increasing authoritarianism |
| Exercises all power of the first beast | Global superpower enforcing a Western (Roman) world order |
| Makes an image of the beast | Church-state union forming, religious legislation increasing, Sunday law movement |
| Causes the earth to worship | Cultural and economic dominance that shapes global behavior |
| Fire from heaven | Nuclear capability, military strikes, technological "signs and wonders" |
Both layers are present because prophecy unfolds across time. The historical fulfillment established the system. The end-times fulfillment brings it to its final form.
"Saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed." Revelation 13:14-15
The image of the beast is not a hologram. It is not artificial intelligence. It is not a statue that comes alive. The image is a MAN -- the Pope -- who is the visible representation of the invisible beast system, just as Yahusha is the image of the invisible Yahuah (Colossians 1:15).
"So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Revelation 17:3, 5
The woman RIDES the beast. She is on top. She controls it. In prophetic symbolism, a woman represents a religious system (the true assembly is the "bride" of the Messiah; a harlot represents a false religious system). The beast is the political power. The harlot sits on the political system and directs it.
MOTHER of Harlots. Not just a harlot -- the Mother. If the Catholic Church is the mother, who are the daughters? The Protestant denominations that left Rome but kept her practices: Sunday worship, Easter, Christmas, the immortal soul doctrine, and the rejection of Torah. They reformed some theology but kept Rome's calendar and Rome's traditions.
"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." -- Revelation 18:4
Notice: Yahuah says "MY people" are IN Babylon. They are sincere believers trapped in the system. The call is not to judge them -- it is to call them OUT. If you keep Sunday, observe Easter and Christmas, and follow Rome's traditions rather than Torah, you are still in Babylon. The call is to come out.
Mystery Babylon is not just Rome. It is not just the Catholic Church. Mystery Babylon is the entire statue of Daniel 2 -- the complete sequence of world empires that have opposed the Most High from Nebuchadnezzar to the present.
"And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT... The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit." Revelation 17:5, 8
Babylon never died. It changed clothes:
The proof? Daniel 2:35 says when the stone strikes the statue, ALL the materials -- gold, silver, bronze, iron, and clay -- shatter TOGETHER. They are all present simultaneously at the end. Daniel 7:12 confirms it: "As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time." The previous beasts did not cease to exist. Their dominion was taken, but their "lives" continued within each successive empire.
Every empire was Babylon in a new costume. The mystery is that it was the same system all along.
"As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him." Amos 5:19
This single verse is a prophetic summary of the entire statue of Daniel 2 and the beast system. The imagery is not random -- it follows the exact sequence of empires:
One verse. The entire prophetic sequence. The warning is clear: do not seek shelter in Babylon's house. The wall you lean on will deliver the serpent's bite.
"And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay." Daniel 2:43
Iron = Rome. This is established throughout Daniel. The legs of iron are the Roman Empire. Iron represents Rome's system of governance, law, and religious authority.
Clay = Yahuah's design. Isaiah 64:8 says "we are the clay, and thou our potter." Clay represents what Yahuah shapes with His own hands. The clay in the statue represents Torah principles -- scriptural governance, individual liberty under the Creator's law.
America is the iron mixed with clay. The United States was founded on two incompatible materials:
The materials are incompatible. Iron and clay do not mix. Torah freedom and Roman control cannot coexist permanently. The tension between them defines America's entire history -- the constant struggle between liberty and authoritarianism, between individual conscience and institutional control.
The stone strikes the statue during THIS phase -- the iron mixed with clay. We are living in the feet of the statue. The stone cut without hands is about to strike.
"Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together." Daniel 2:34-35
