"The moon determines the Sabbath according to Psalm 104:19"
This is their FOUNDATIONAL ERROR. Psalm 104:19 says "He appointed the moon for seasons" - the Hebrew word is "moedim" meaning APPOINTED FEASTS, not the weekly Sabbath!
GENESIS 1:14 - "Let them be for signs, and for seasons [moedim], and for days, and years"
Notice "days" is SEPARATE from "seasons"! The moon is for feast days (Passover, Tabernacles, etc.) which ARE tied to the lunar calendar. But the weekly Sabbath predates the moon by 3 days!
DEATH BLOW: The Sabbath was blessed and sanctified on Day 7 of Creation. The moon wasn't created until Day 4. How could the Sabbath depend on something that didn't exist yet?
"Sabbaths in the Bible always fall on 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th"
This is CHERRY-PICKING at its worst! They only cite a few passages and ignore the rest of Scripture.
HERE'S WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU:
- The 15th of Abib is the Feast of Unleavened Bread - a special sabbath, not the weekly Sabbath
- They can't explain the manna falling for exactly 6 days every week for 40 years
- They ignore that Pentecost (50 days from Firstfruits) destroys their count
- Yahusha died on Preparation Day, rested on Sabbath, rose on First Day - a continuous 3-day sequence impossible with lunar sabbath
LEVITICUS 23:15-16 - "Seven sabbaths shall be complete... even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days"
50 days = 7 weeks + 1 day. This ONLY works with continuous 7-day weeks!
"The continuous weekly cycle is from Rome/Babylon"
COMPLETE LIE! The 7-day week is the ONLY time cycle not based on astronomy. It comes from Creation alone!
HISTORICAL FACTS THEY HIDE:
- Ancient Chinese, Indian, and Germanic tribes all had 7-day weeks BEFORE contact with Rome
- The Dead Sea Scrolls confirm continuous weekly cycle
- Josephus (1st century) confirms Jews kept continuous weekly Sabbath
- Even Wikipedia admits: "The seven-day week originates from the calendar of the Babylonians, which in turn was based on a Sumerian calendar dated to the 21st century BC"
BUT WAIT - IT GOES BACK FURTHER: The 7-day week predates Babylon, Sumer, and EVERY civilization because it comes from CREATION WEEK!
"How can we know which day is the seventh if calendars have changed?"
The WEEKLY CYCLE has NEVER been broken despite calendar changes!
IRREFUTABLE PROOF:
- Jews have kept Sabbath for 3,500 years without losing track
- Muslims keep Friday, Jews keep Saturday, Christians keep Sunday - ALL agree on the weekly cycle
- The Julian to Gregorian calendar change (1582) only adjusted dates, NOT the weekly cycle
- Thursday, October 4, 1582 was followed by Friday, October 15, 1582 - the week continued unbroken!
LUKE 4:16 - Yahusha kept the Sabbath "as his custom was"
If the Jews had the wrong day, don't you think the Son of Yahuah would have corrected them?
"There are translation days between lunar months not counted as week days"
This is PURE FICTION with ZERO biblical support! They INVENTED this concept to make their false system work!
WHERE IS THIS IN SCRIPTURE? NOWHERE!
GENESIS 8:22 - "While the earth remaineth... day and night shall not cease"
EVERY day counts! There are no "non-days" or "translation days" in Scripture!
THE MANNA DESTROYS THIS LIE: If there were 1-2 "non-days" each month, the manna pattern would have been disrupted 480 times in 40 years. But Exodus 16 says it NEVER failed - 6 days of manna, none on the 7th, for 2,080 consecutive weeks!
"Ezekiel 46:1 proves the new moon day is not a work day"
They're twisting Scripture about TEMPLE GATES in the Millennial Temple, not work days!
EZEKIEL 46:1 - "The gate of the inner court... shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened"
This is about when the TEMPLE GATE is open for special worship, not declaring new moon days as non-work days! The new moon was for special offerings (Numbers 28:11-15), but people still worked. Only the 7th-day Sabbath and annual feast days were rest days.
