1854: BLESSED IS HE THAT WAITETH

The 1,335 Days Fulfilled - Jews Return to Jerusalem

"Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days" - Daniel 12:12

The 1,335 Days Prophecy

Daniel 12:11-12: "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days."

Notice the progression in Daniel 12:

  • 1,260 days: Time of persecution (Revelation 12:6)
  • 1,290 days: Abomination continues (verse 11)
  • 1,335 days: BLESSING comes (verse 12)

The 1,335 days represents a time when those who waited would see blessing and restoration begin.

The Mathematical Calculation

The Numbers:

1,335 prophetic days = 1,335 years (day-for-year principle)

1,335 × (360 ÷ 365.25) = 1,315.72 solar years

Starting point: 538 AD (Papal supremacy established)

538 + 1,316 = 1854 AD

Result: 1854 AD

Why This Calculation Matters:

The 1,335 days is 75 days longer than the 1,260 days, and 45 days longer than the 1,290 days. This represents a period of waiting AFTER the persecution ends, when blessing would finally come to those who endured.

1854: The Historic Turning Point

For the First Time Since 70 AD:

Jews Became the Majority Population in Jerusalem!

The Ottoman Census of 1854:

According to Ottoman records, the population of Jerusalem in 1854 was:

  • Jews: 8,000 (majority)
  • Muslims: 4,000
  • Christians: 3,500

Total: Approximately 15,500 residents

This was the first time in 1,784 years (since 70 AD) that Jews were the majority!

The Significance:

  • After nearly 1,800 years of exile, Jews began returning in significant numbers
  • The "blessing" promised to those who waited had begun
  • This was 93 years BEFORE Israel was reborn (1947)
  • It marked the beginning of the restoration process

Historical Context of 1854

What Was Happening in the World:

  • Crimean War (1853-1856): Ottoman Empire allied with Britain and France
  • European Interest: Western powers gained influence in the Holy Land
  • Jewish Immigration: Persecution in Europe drove Jews to Palestine
  • Infrastructure: First modern roads and buildings in Jerusalem

Sir Moses Montefiore's Visits:

The British Jewish philanthropist visited Jerusalem seven times between 1827-1875. His efforts included:

  • 1854-1857: Built the first Jewish neighborhood outside the Old City walls (Mishkenot Sha'ananim)
  • Established windmill for flour production
  • Created jobs and housing for Jewish immigrants
  • His work coincided exactly with the 1,335 days fulfillment!

Why "Blessed Is He That Waiteth"?

Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon YHWH shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

The Waiting Period:

  • 70 AD: Jerusalem destroyed, Jews scattered
  • 70-1854 AD: 1,784 years of exile and waiting
  • 1854: The blessing begins - Jews return as majority
  • 1854-1947: 93 years of gradual restoration
  • 1947: Israel reborn as a nation

Those who "waited" through centuries of persecution would see the beginning of restoration. The 1,335 days marks when Yahuah began bringing His people home!

Connection to the Prophetic Timeline

The Progression of Restoration:

1798: Papal power wounded (1,260 years literal)

1809: Papal states destroyed (2,300 & 1,290 days)

1854: Jews return to Jerusalem (1,335 days) ← BLESSING BEGINS

1947: Israel restored (2,520 & 430 years)

2017: Jerusalem recognized (Generation + 70)

2027: Generation limit (Generation + 80)

Notice how 1854 is the turning point - when blessing and restoration begin after centuries of judgment!

Prophetic Fulfillments Since 1854

Ezekiel 36:8: "But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come."

The Land Responds to Jewish Return:

  • Before 1854: Mark Twain (1867) described it as "a desolate country"
  • After 1854: The land began to bloom as Jews returned
  • Swamps drained, deserts irrigated, cities rebuilt
  • The land literally waited for its people!

Amos 9:14-15: "And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith YHWH thy Elohim."

Historical Documentation

Multiple Sources Confirm 1854:

  • Ottoman Tax Records: Show Jewish majority by 1854
  • British Consular Reports: Document population shifts
  • Jewish Archives: Immigration records from Europe
  • Church Records: Note declining Christian population
  • Travel Accounts: Visitors noted Jewish predominance

The Miracle of Timing:

Daniel wrote this prophecy around 535 BC. He predicted that 1,335 years after 538 AD, blessing would come to those who waited. And exactly in 1854, Jews became the majority in Jerusalem for the first time since their dispersion!

Why 1854 Matters for Us Today

The Pattern of Restoration:

1854 → 1947 → 2027

Blessing Begins → Nation Restored → Messiah Returns

Lessons from the 1,335 Days:

  1. Waiting has purpose: Those who endure will see blessing
  2. Precision timing: Yahuah keeps His appointments
  3. Progressive restoration: 1854 began what 1947 established
  4. The end approaches: If restoration began in 1854, completion is near

Habakkuk 2:3: "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
